This Bendigo Wedding Photographer has a B-A-L-L!
This year saw me return to the I Do I Do Wedding Expo after a few years off and I wanted my stall to be completely different to anything else there.
I wanted to combine my love of home styling and photography to show off some of my favourite photos from last wedding season.
I dreamt up this Hipster Vs Vintage/Retro theme, and WALAH! (Not that easy, actually!!) – There was A LOT of effort that went into my expo stall to have it look as amazing as it did!
My clever Husband, Dez built my pegboard backdrop that I asked ever so nicely for, and that was the base of my idea. I then wanted to soften it with some vintage/retro styling and flowers. I wanted my space to resemble that of a cool shop or lounge room that people could walk into and browse.
With the help from Oliver Birch (lending furnishings), The Eternal Vase (lending florals) and Truscott Art & Framing (donating framing) I was able to bring to life the image I had dreamt up in my head! Teamed with my personal collection of frames, trinkets and branding I really think I pulled it off! Being a Bendigo Wedding Photographer is actually the best. I am surrounded by such a wonderful business network, where literally everyone is happy to lend a hand.
I met so many lovely couples, and listened intently to all the grand plans of each of their wedding dreams. You see, I’m not just a photographer… I am a little bit of a wedding nut. I love hearing the details, big and small of my clients wedding day! I often have Bride’s texting me with ideas, asking for advice and even snapchatting me wedding dress options.
This isn’t just a job for me, I am truly passionate about capturing love and relationships. It’s not just the love between the Bride & Groom on a wedding day, it is that of the family and friends too. The small moments matter just as much as the big ones. Father of the Bride seeing his little girl in her dress for the first time, Nana & Pa congratulating their Grandchild on getting hitched, The flowergirl getting side-tracked and walking to Mum in the crowd instead of up to the alter… These moments make up your wedding day just as much as cutting the cake and your first dance.
When you choose me to capture your day, you don’t just get a highlight reel of your wedding day, you get a documented account of how you day actually unfolds.
The day was not just about little old me and my stall though! No sir-ree!
I was completely surrounded by Bendigo’s best wedding vendors showcasing their individual style and offerings!
We had Morgi Mac, Graphic Design extraordinaire and all-round legend showcasing her talents in wedding invitation & stationary design
We had Style by Ashleigh K, who not only owns & runs the entire I Do I Do Expo, but runs her own Wedding Planning & Styling business as well. She managed to put together an EPIC day for all of her stall holders, as well as style her own stand, put together “Style Lane” and much more as well.
This inspirational Woman is the epitome of a multi-tasker and does everything with love & passion.
We had The Caravan Bar there to give the Expo some “coolness” – This is such an awesome idea for a wedding! Just imagine this beautiful old caravan sitting on a bit of farm land with festoon lighting serving you and your guests drinks into the wee hours of the night… I’m *so* looking forward to the day that we get to work together!
We had my darling friend Hayley with her biz, The Deluxe Hamper Company showing off her perfect Bridal Hampers for moments like asking your bestie “Will you be my Bridesmaid” or asking your niece “Will you be my Flowergirl” – SO many options, and very affordable! See Hayley for all of your Flowergirl wand needs too!
We had My Vintage Tea Hire that has *the* largest collection of vintage tea cups, tea pots and other trinkets to add the touch of vintage to your Hens Day, Bridal Shower and Wedding Decor! Would you look at that colour coded goodness of, what is about an eighth of her collection!
The Eternal Vase was saturated throughout the Exhibition Centre as usual, taking a cold empty building to a warm and inviting stylish place to dream. Miranda can literally do anything, and EVERYTHING. You give her a brief, as specific or vague as you like… And the lady will deliver.
Keeping up with the Melbourne trends, she is ALWAYS one step ahead and keeps Bendigo weddings so new and exciting with her talents.
My friend Mynette from Cafe Essence was there with bells on, and taking centre stage with her amazingly perfect cakes and catering as per usual. This lady knows her food, and if you need a cake or catering… Go and talk to Mynette. She is insane (In the best way), she is SO talented as well as being so supportive to me and other wedding vendors in town.
It was Mynette who gave me a break in the wedding industry, she was the first business to let me put my business cards in their shop, and she invited me to some weddings she catered so I could gain experience in photographing reception set-ups. She got my foot in the door, and I will always remember that!
“Style Lane” was set up with some incredible local talents again, and gives couples a different perspective to what they see at individual stalls.
So much goodness in one Expo!
Radcliffe’s Echuca – Insanely beautiful wedding reception venue.
Flavour & Heart – The most delicious and fresh Macaroons you will taste! (I was lucky enough to take some home and Y-U-M is all I can say!!)
Little Loves Boutique – For all your flower girl needs!
Fifi & Edga – Just WOW!
So a BIG thank you to Ash for giving us Bendigo wedding vendors such a fabulous day, you smashed your first expo and I hope you can sleep for at least a week! You have outdone yourself lady, and I look forward to your grand plans for 2017!!
Big Love,
LLP
