Hey Legend! Thanks for stopping by, if you're looking for a particular blog you can click the categories below for easy access!
These guys! Such a fricken cute little family. I feel so honoured to have been asked along to the wedding of these wonderful human beings.
Bec contacted me back in January 2016, with the most polite and genuine email manner (which trust me, is sometimes hard to find!) – She was so sweet and even though I hadn’t met her in real life when she booked in, I had a good vibe right from the start. Which, by the way, is pivotal. If I get a bad vibe, I won’t take the wedding, I just won’t.
Anywho, when I finally got to meet these guys, they were so cruisey and lovely and I just felt all the good feels. They spoke to me about their plans, and about their son, Jaxon’s involvement in the big day – It was going to be CA-UTE!
So when I rocked up to Tristan’s Mum’s house on the day, to be greeted by this little man in his little slacks and suspenders…. I almost died! Cuteness overload. The blonde curly ringlets, the cheeky little smile, and just looking so damn dapper in his little suit & bowtie!
Oh, his Dad didn’t look too bad either! Tristan had his mates there, his Mum and Stepdad, there were people walking in and out… It was buzzing. The boys looked *sharp* in their blue suits, and those hot pink flowers looks SEN-SATIONAL against the navy. These guys are old mates from school, and after a bit of banter, we discovered we all went to the same school and were in the same year – So weird! They didn’t hold it against me though *Phew!*
Off to see Bec and the girls at the most beautiful little home in Langston Street, Bendigo – Where Bridesmaid (#legend) Zoe had perfectly lined up the girls dresses, and Bec’s jewellery & perfume for me to photograph (Thank you Zoe!)
Little mate Jaxon had since been chauffeured to see his Mumma too, and didn’t want to miss out on the action! The girls floated around in their cute matching robes and drank champagne and laughed while we waited for the right time for Bec to put on her dress!
Such a great bunch of girls, all 150% committed to supporting their friend and ensuring she had THE best morning. These girls? The definition of the perfect Bridesmaids! Lots of laughs, lots of joking, and LOADS of love.
Bec was in her stunning dress. The limo driver had rocked up. Everyone was looking beautiful.
Jaxon held his Mumma’s hand and walked her out the door and into the limo – How completely adorable is the below photo!
As the limo drove slowly down the long and windy driveway of Sutton Grange Winery, I watched Tristan’s face. You see, this is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day. Sounds creepy now that I’m writing it, but next wedding you go to… Do it.
Watch the Groom.
Tristan’s facial expressions went from ecstatic, to ‘Holy Shit’, to ‘OMG OMG OMG!’ (and repeat) as he waited for his Wifey to appear from those big barn doors!
Pure and utter happiness when Jaxon walked down the aisle holding a sign saying “Daddy, Here Comes Mummy” – And then there was Bec. So humble, yet so beautiful walking down with her Dad by her side. I kept flicking from Bec, back to see Tristan’s face… That first reaction is EVERYTHING.
One of my favourite photos I’ve EVER taken, is the one above. Bec + Tristan’s first kiss as husband and wife, and their Son Jax, totally unprompted, stood up to give them a standing ovation and a clap. These guys have since had me frame this photo in a huge scale and it now sits in their lounge room. I LOVE that.
These guys are surrounded by the most beautiful and caring family & friends. It is just so nice to watch the way people looked at them. They quite obviously have made an impact on every person there, and today, the love was radiating right back at them.
I have to talk about Sutton Grange for a moment. This place is SO perfect for a wedding. You literally have everything you could want all in one place. There are windy dirt roads, there are beautiful grape vines, there are rolling hills, there is the lake with the big ass fountain, there are barn doors, there are open paddocks. Not to mention how good that giant light-up heart looked!
Pure. Gold.
So now that the formalities were done, these guys were super keen to party!
The reception area at Sutton Grange is nothing short of stunning. The old barn is dripping with fairy lights, and has the unique backdrop of their wine barrels at the back. The food, the drinks… This place is one of THE best wedding venues in Bendigo. Hands. Down.
Straight into the first dance… So so special.
Tristan serenaded Bec throughout the whole song, and can you see the way he is looking at her? Pretty sure EVERY girl grows up wanting to be look at like that!
Once Bec + Tristan stepped onto the D-floor for their first dance, I kid you not, it was full for the rest of the night. These guys had some of the best moves I’ve ever seen! BOG (Best On Ground) goes to Bec’s Dad (Pete) though – He was pulling out some sick moves!
I have to say… I LOVE being invited to stay on for the reception. These photos are priceless! People REALLY let loose once the formalities are over with!!
Speeches were super special. With special mention to Bec’s niece and Tristan’s Dad who are no longer with us. Their family and friends spoke so highly of the couple. The way they were raising their son. The way they are always so kind to others, and how involved they are in their extended families lives. I knew these guys were good eggs, but y’know when you hear it straight from family, who can explain it so detailed, and so deeply? It just… resonates.
I am so delayed in writing this blog, but I am so pleased to be able to share and reminisce about this perfect day with you Bec + Tristan. And it kind of worked out perfectly, because we can now share with you that Jaxon will be getting a little brother or sister soon now too! What a PERFECT addition to an already perfect family.
Congrats, guys!!
Big Love, Leah
