Echuca Wedding Photographer: Leah Ladson
My gosh, this couple are just… The actual nicest people EVER. I knew as soon as Dani emailed me that she was special… From day dot, she shared with me that she loves my photography, and respects my craft. I get many, many wedding enquiries, and it has become quite easy to pick the good eggs from the tyre kickers. And Dani? The best kind of egg there is!
With Dani and Nick a little while away in Avoca, we didn’t get to meet up before they booked (which I usually do, to make sure we are a good match – But with Dani’s beautiful emails I wasn’t worried one bit) but got to meet up in real life a few months before the wedding when they came to my home on their travels through Marong. I was met with the sweetest couple, so down to earth and kind. I knew from our communications early that they were awesome, but it was solidified when I got to chat with them face to face. Dead. Set. Legends.
Anywho, enough about my love for these guys… let me walk you through their beautiful wedding day!
Dani and Nick had chosen Tindarra Resort for their ceremony and reception. This place is amazing… It has everything you need (including accommodation) all on one site.
So… I started my day off hanging out with the boys. I was greeted by the boys who were in their singlets having a beer out the back. I quickly captured the beautiful personalised details that Dani had organised for the boys… Including custom briefs!
The boys weren’t satisfied enough with my flatlay of said briefs, so happily modelled them for me as well, ha!
The boys helped Nick get ready, along with his Mumma in the other room for moral support (and tie tying support too) – I could see Nick was getting quite nervous through the banter being thrown around.
With the boys all dressed, Nick sat down to read a card Dani had sent over to him. I’m quite certain there would have been tears from Nick if the boys weren’t paying him out from the sidelines!
So, with the boys all ready to rumble. Suits on. Looking schmick. It was time for me to head over and see the girls – Who were also getting ready at Tindarra a stones throw from the boys.
Dani was waiting patiently with her beautiful Bridesmaids at the ready. Beautiful personalised details were on display again, it was right then that I realised how thoughtful and generous Dani really is.
While I photographed the stunning details, I had the chance to have a chat with Dani’s Mum, Jacquie. She was very proud that she was actually the one who had shown Dani my photography (of another wedding at Tindarra) and seriously gave me all the feels to know I was so wanted (I can see where Dani gets it from, she made me feel like a million dollars!).
While the beautiful Maids were getting ready, Dani admired her stunning wedding dress that was hanging up in the front, light-soaked room. And took the opportunity to show her Mum some very sentimental personal touches on her bouquet.
A moment later, we heard some footsteps coming up the back stairs, and it was their little page boy Joel (3 at the time) coming to deliver a letter to Dani from Nick.
Before Dani could open her card though (and I’m starting to think this is a true characteristic of the kind human she is), Dani wanted to show Joel how important he was to their day, and pulled out a personalised tractor for him to show their appreciation.
Finally… It was Dani’s turn to put on her dress. The lady who makes everyone else feel special, puts others needs first, and is always thinking of ways to make people feel important… Finally it was her turn.
It was so nice to watch Dani be fussed over. I know I haven’t known her for that long… But I just know how much she does for others ~ So this was truly special.
Once she was dressed, it was time to open up a card and gift that Nick has organised for her. The most beautiful Tiffany & Co bracelet ( we were all swooning at this point) and a beautifully written card expressing his love for his soon-to-be-wifey.
With the insanely stunning Dani ready to see her Hubby, it was off to the ceremony!
Nick waited patiently (and nervously) for his beautiful Bride under the shade of a beautiful big gum tree. Chatting to his Groomsmen, and every few minutes looking over to see when things might begin.
As Dani walked around the corner, arm in arm with her Dad. I couldn’t help but shed a tear of happiness from A) Seeing how proud her Dad’s face was, and B) Seeing Nick’s eyes well up with tears as his smile stretched across his face as far as it could possibly go.
The ceremony was beautiful. We heard from the couples Mum’s, as well as the beautiful, Sheridan.
Seriously… not a dry eye in the house!
With the ceremony done and dusted, and officially now Husband and Wife… It was time for their guests to love-bomb them… And that they did!
The overwhelming love for these two was so very prevalent, it was so lovely watching all the reactions and love being thrown around, and especially to the newlyweds!
While the congratulations could have lasted all night, it was time the guests went to mingle and eat and we headed off to find some sweet locations for some bridal party and portrait photos (even including their fur baby!)
We hit up the banks of the might Murray River, the Wharf, some beautiful Vines, and one of my favourites, an old Morton Bay fig tree that is nestled away in a secret residential street.
With the photos done, and the Bride Tribe wanting to return to the party ~ That’s just what we did. They headed back to their room for a quick freshen up, and to build the suspense of their intro, obvs!
The bar area was decked out with the most gigantic grazing table, with every kind of food you could ever ask for. The walls were decorated with personalised bits and pieces, along with photos and memories of Dani + Nick’s time together.
The marquee was filled with beautiful florals and foliage, all tied in with the couples burgundy, gold and white theme.
The guests were buzzing with excitement to get the chance to hang out with their beloved Dani + Nick, and so gathered in quick pace to form a human aisle for the couple to be introduced with.
The newlyweds walked in with the biggest smiles on their faces. Equally as excited to have the chance to catch up with their favourite people in the world. A quick cake cut, and as the sun set and it was almost time for my departure… We took the opportunity to capture the golden light with some last minute portraits on the banks of the Murray River.
Dani and Nick… I can’t thank you enough for trusting me with your special day. It was an absolute privilege (no word of a lie) to meet you and hang out with you. I especially loved Dani’s email when she received your photos telling me that she has showed everyone within a 50km radius of where you live, ha!
True Dani Coghlan, always making people feel special!
I wish (and know) you will have a life full of happiness and adventure together. Always brightening people’s days with your infectious personalities. A massive thank you to both of your families for making me feel so incredibly welcome too, I absolutely loved meeting all of you and love that we can stay in touch!
Big Love, Leah
~ xoxo !
