Hey Legend! Thanks for stopping by, if you're looking for a particular blog you can click the categories below for easy access!
When you book your wedding in early December, you think you are almost guaranteed good weather, yes?
Not for these guys, unfortunately. But I actually think it made the day pretty cool! It’s obviously a challenge when you are supposed to be married outdoors in a huge thunderstorm…. But everyone went to Plan B and made it happen!
I started the morning by heading off on a little road trip to visit Mike and his friends at his and Michelle’s home in Runnymede, they had just moved here recently and had found this little piece of paradise they get to call home with their fur baby, Bella.
The guys were all pretty chilled out, not too worried about the weather and ready to get on with the day.
Once I had finished with the boys, I headed over to Mandurang’s Queen Bee Vineyard where Michelle and her Bridesmaids were getting ready in the beautiful little B&B accommodation there.
Michelle was getting her makeup done when I arrived, and looking out at the pouring rain. A little disappointed, but… with nothing she could do about it, pulled her (hypothetical) socks up and enjoyed the morning with her Maids and her Mum.
With the dress on and nothing left to do, it was time to brave the rain and make a run for it to the beautiful vintage car Michelle had organised to transfer her to her wedding!
Over at Sutton Grange Winery, the staff were busy moving the alter and all the chairs undercover to keep Michelle + Mike (and all their guests) dry and warm. They managed to squeeze us all in under the verandah area, which made it all the more intimate and lovely.
With the vows done, and a short break in the rain – I asked very politely if everyone was happy to brave the cold for a few minutes to grab a group shot, and then it was time to wander the property for some more photos with the newlyweds.
I have to say a special thank you to the lovely gent who kindly followed me around with an umbrella (P-Diddy style) to allow me to get the shots!
The rain held off for the most-part, we got the shots we wanted and so then it was time for the newlyweds to be introduced officially, as Mr + Mrs!
The reception hall was set up beautifully (as it always is at Sutton Grange)
After a little bit of mingling and letting their hair down, it was time for speeches. We saw loads of laughter, and a few (happy) tears, all the good stuff… What great speeches are made of!
Once the speeches were finished, it was time to cut the cake, and head in for their first dance!
Mike + Michelle, thank you for asking me to be a part of your big day. I wish you all the health and happiness in the world.
Big Love, Leah
~ xoxo ~
