Hey Legend! Thanks for stopping by, if you're looking for a particular blog you can click the categories below for easy access!
Firstly, I have to say… Word of Mouth is AMAZING. So thank you to any one who has passed my name on to someone else… It is literally my best form of advertising and I am SO SO SO grateful when I get to meet wonderful people/make new friends because YOU referred me.
So yep, you guessed it. A beautiful couple who’s wedding I shot last year (Thanks Sarah + Jaye!) told Georgia to check me out, and the rest is history. Georgia came and met me in person at a wedding expo I was attending and that was it… love at first sight (sorry Ben, she’s mine!) – We chatted back and forth for the entire wedding prep timeline, and figured out we had a lot in common. I’ve never met such a positive person. In the time we have known each other Georgia’s new home that was being built came to a screeching holt as the builders business dissolved (and all the fun stuff that comes with that), and she was also caring for her Dad who was really unwell. Never a moment of ‘poor me’ though. I am in awe of the way Georgia has handled herself through some really tough times. Sadly Georgia’s Dad passed away only a few short weeks before her wedding, and the strength she showed to get through that period, and to enjoy her wedding was simply courageous. I am tearing up just thinking about it now. Georgia, you are one of a kind and your Dad would be so proud of you.
So… without further ado, let’s talk about this wedding 🙂
I started off with the boys, as usual. They were hanging out at Georgia + Ben’s new home, which is so lovely and filled with natural light! After all the stresses of building, it was so nice to see they had made themselves a home.
Ben had his close mates & family all hanging out with him and looking after him… one of the Groomsmen even flying in from London!
Then off to see the girls who were staying at a cute little B&B in Sutton Grange, not far from the winery. The colours and details that Ben + Georgia chose were absolutely stunning. Loving the deep burgundy with the navy suits!
Georgia was surrounded by her BEAUTIFUL Mumma, and her 4 x stunning Maids.
The way these guys were looking at Georgia all day, was something I noticed straight away. You know the saying ‘All the heart eyes’? These guys were literally the heart eye emoji. Couldn’t ask for much more in a friend, I say! Check out their reaction when they saw Georgia’s wedding dress for the first time! Georgia wanted to keep the dress a surprise, so they had not laid eyes on it until this moment!
Mind you, Georgia’s smile is ridiculously contagious too! I spent all day smiling behind my camera. Completely and utterly in awe of this beautiful women!
Next up, was to head out to the beautiful Sutton Grange Winery. This place holds a special place for these guys, as Georgia’s Uncle + Aunty live on the property.
Pretty special to have such a beautiful meaning behind your wedding venue!
Ben + Georgia chose to do a First Look, and do their portraits before the wedding ceremony so they could party straight away with their guests after they said ‘I Do’ – And this first look? The most adorable I’ve ever photographed.
As the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen watched from the top of the property, Georgia walked down quietly (I won’t mention that part where you walked like a T-Rex cos you’d seen it on Facebook! I won’t show the photo, but use your imagination!) to Ben who had his back turned. No more words needed for this moment, I’ll let the images speak for themself.
We let them be for a little while (I always like to have my big lens on for these moments so I can be standing as far back as I can) to let them have a moment together. Just them. No one else.
And then we quickly walked up to the vines, trying to hide the Bride + Groom as people started arriving. The bridal party formed a human barricade at one point to get them safely (and unseen) inside ready for the ceremony.
Georgia’s Mum walked her down the aisle. So so proudly. Trying to hold back the tears. Such a special moment. One that would have been filled with pride, but also a little hint of sadness that Paul (Georgia’s Dad) wasn’t there to do it.
Georgia… You are amazing. You held it together while I’m certain 90% of your guests did not. That beautiful smile? Actually priceless.
These legends said ‘I Do’ in front of the beautiful lake at Sutton Grange. And during the ceremony, this beautiful black butterfly, with white spots just hung around. It stayed for around 45 minutes for the entire ceremony… and I don’t know if you believe in that kind of stuff, but I think it had something to do with Georgia’s Dad. I so wish it had of stayed still so I could get a photo, but I will never forget it.
While the guests sipped on Sutton Grange wine’s, we nipped off for a couple of extra photos before heading into the barn-style reception area.
All the time, the bridal party was there to make these guys smile and laugh.
Such a good looking bunch 😀 (see proof below!)
My new favourite thing is when a couple goes straight into their wedding dance from being introduced. The crowd is there, already upstanding, clapping… bask in the moment!
Loved the dance moves guys, amazing work!
Ben.. Georgia… Thank you!
For inviting me into your family for the day.
For trusting me to capture all of these special memories for you.
And especially for sharing the loss of your Dad with me Georgia, I feel like I was the only person qualified to be able to go on this journey with you, our meeting was meant to be. My heart is filled with great pride to be able to stand with you on your wedding day, knowing the feeling of losing a Dad, and to be able to support you and guide you through that was the biggest honour.
